Job Description

TechNova Solutions is hiring a System Administrator for our Amsterdam engineering hub, where you will manage the Linux and Windows server estate powering our SaaS platform serving clients in 40 countries. From virtualisation clusters and storage arrays to identity management and backup systems, you will keep our infrastructure secure, patched and performing. Our Amsterdam hub hosts the core infrastructure for European customers, including high-availability database clusters and GPU nodes supporting our growing machine-learning workloads.

We run a modern hybrid environment spanning on-premises VMware clusters and multi-cloud workloads, so there is plenty of scope to automate with Ansible and Terraform and to shape our infrastructure-as-code practices. You will join a no-blame, documentation-driven team that values reliability engineering over heroics. You will also drive our migration from legacy monitoring to a unified observability platform, contribute to disaster-recovery testing twice yearly, and receive funded training towards RHCE or CKA certification.

Responsibilities

Administer Linux (Ubuntu/RHEL) and Windows Server systems across production
Manage VMware virtualisation clusters, storage and backup infrastructure
Automate provisioning and configuration with Ansible and Terraform
Oversee patching, monitoring and capacity planning for 200+ servers
Maintain Active Directory, SSO and identity lifecycle processes
Respond to incidents and participate in blameless post-incident reviews

Requirements

3-5 years of systems administration experience in production environments
Strong Linux administration skills; Windows Server knowledge required
Experience with VMware vSphere and enterprise backup solutions
Scripting ability in Bash and Python; Ansible or Terraform experience preferred
Understanding of monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Prometheus or Datadog
ITIL Foundation or RHCSA certification is a plus
