Senior Software Engineer

Job Description

TechNova Solutions is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for our platform team in San Francisco, where you will design and build the distributed systems behind products used by millions of customers worldwide. You will own services end-to-end — from architecture and implementation to deployment and on-call — while mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar across the organisation. Our San Francisco platform group owns the core services processing over two billion API requests daily, so your design decisions will operate at genuine internet scale.

Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable microservices in Go, Python or Java
Own technical design documents and drive architecture decisions
Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through reviews and pairing
Improve system reliability, observability and incident response practices
Partner with product managers to scope and prioritise roadmap work
Contribute to hiring through interviews and technical assessments

Requirements

6-10 years of professional software engineering experience
Deep expertise in at least one backend language (Go, Python or Java)
Proven experience designing distributed systems at scale
Strong knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes and modern DevOps practices
Excellent system-design and technical communication skills
Track record of mentoring engineers and leading projects
