Job Description
TechNova Solutions is hiring an Embedded Software Engineer for our Stockholm R&D lab developing firmware for next-generation IoT devices. You will write bare-metal and RTOS-based C/C++ code for ARM Cortex microcontrollers, bring up new hardware with oscilloscopes and logic analysers, and optimise for ultra-low power consumption. Our Stockholm lab develops battery-powered sensors deployed across Scandinavia, where firmware efficiency directly determines whether devices last five years or ten in the field.
This is a role for an engineer who loves working close to the silicon. We sponsor EU work permits, offer Swedish language training, and give you access to a superbly equipped lab plus the freedom to influence hardware design decisions from the earliest prototypes. You will also influence next-generation hardware specifications, attend Embedded World in Nuremberg with the team, and receive funded training in advanced Rust for embedded systems.
Responsibilities
Develop embedded firmware in C/C++ for ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers
Bring up new PCB designs and debug with JTAG, oscilloscopes and analysers
Implement drivers for I2C, SPI, UART, BLE and Wi-Fi peripherals
Optimise firmware for low power consumption and memory footprint
Work with FreeRTOS or Zephyr on real-time scheduling and IPC
Collaborate with hardware engineers on schematic and layout reviews
Requirements
3-5 years of embedded C/C++ development experience
Strong understanding of ARM Cortex-M architecture and toolchains
Experience with RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr) and bare-metal development
Hands-on hardware debugging skills (JTAG/SWD, oscilloscope)
Knowledge of communication protocols: BLE, Wi-Fi, LoRa, CAN
Familiarity with CI for embedded and hardware-in-the-loop testing
Skills
Embedded C, C++, ARM Cortex-M, FreeRTOS, Zephyr, JTAG, I2C, SPI, BLE, Git
Benefits
EU work-permit sponsorship and relocation support
Collective-agreement pension and insurance benefits
30 days paid holiday under Swedish standards
Swedish language courses and cultural onboarding
State-of-the-art lab equipment and tooling
