QA Automation Engineer

Job Description

DataMinds Analytics is seeking a QA Automation Engineer for our Kuala Lumpur quality engineering team, where you will build the automated test frameworks that guard our data platform's reliability. You will design API and UI test suites with Playwright and RestAssured, integrate them into CI pipelines, and champion shift-left testing practices across engineering squads. Our Kuala Lumpur team guards releases for a platform processing billions of data points daily, where a single escaped defect can affect thousands of downstream dashboards.

Quality is a first-class citizen here, not an afterthought. You will have real influence over release decisions, work with modern tooling, and grow towards SDET or QA lead roles with our full support and training budget. You will also pioneer our shift-left testing strategy with contract testing, build performance-test suites with k6, and receive funded ISTQB Advanced Test Automation Engineer certification.

Responsibilities

Design and maintain automated test frameworks using Playwright and RestAssured
Build API, UI and integration test suites integrated into CI/CD
Develop test plans and risk-based testing strategies for new features
Investigate failures, file precise bug reports and verify fixes
Monitor test reliability metrics and reduce flaky-test rates
Advocate shift-left testing practices within engineering teams

Requirements

2-4 years of QA automation experience
Strong Java or TypeScript skills for test development
Hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium or Cypress
API testing experience with RestAssured or similar tools
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
ISTQB certification is an advantage
