The Embassy of Italy in Islamabad has published the 2026/2027 procedures for Pakistani students: Universitaly pre-enrolment is mandatory, appointments are allocated directly by the embassy through BLS-Intiana, and the visa application deadline is 30 November 2026.
Visa Requirements
- A validated pre-enrolment application on the Universitaly portal — only validated applicants may submit a visa application.
- National Visa (D) application form, completed in English or Italian in block capitals, signed and dated.
- Recent ICAO-format photograph and a valid passport.
- Proof of residence within the consular jurisdiction (for Pakistani citizens, a copy of the CNIC).
- Admission letter from the Italian university and the Universitaly pre-enrolment summary.
- Academic documents, apostilled and translated into Italian, plus CIMEA certificate or declaration of value where required.
- Health insurance with minimum coverage of €30,000 and proof of accommodation and financial means.
- Applicants must be permanently resident within the consular jurisdiction of the embassy.
Application Process
- Complete pre-enrolment ("domande di pre-iscrizione") on the Universitaly portal, which is a prerequisite for enrolment procedures for academic year 2026/2027.
- Wait for the university to validate the pre-enrolment application on the Universitaly portal.
- Once validated, the embassy (through BLS-Intiana) allocates an appointment and contacts the applicant individually by email in chronological order of validation.
- Only students whose pre-enrolment has been validated by their university are eligible to submit a visa application.
- Prepare the full documentation package in line with the embassy's study-visa documentation guidelines, including a National Visa (D) form, passport, proof of residence, admission documents, apostilled and Italian-translated academic records, health insurance and proof of financial means.
- The deadline for submitting the visa application is 30 November 2026.
Fees & Processing Time
- Fees not published in the source. Fraud notice: the embassy and BLS-Intiana have no official WhatsApp or mobile numbers and never request deposits, fees, commissions or other sums for booking appointments; suspected abuse should be reported to urp.islamabad@esteri.it.
