Norway Student Visa Guide for Pakistani Students (2026)

This Norway student visa guide explains the requirements and application process for Pakistani students planning to study in Norway in 2026. Norway offers high-quality education with many programmes taught in English, and public universities charge no tuition fees — though you must prove you can support yourself financially.

Visa Requirements

Pakistani applicants need an admission letter from an approved Norwegian educational institution, proof of sufficient funds to cover living expenses (as set by the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration), valid health insurance, a valid passport, and documentation of accommodation in Norway. You must also show that you intend to leave Norway when your studies end.

Application Process

Apply for a student residence permit through the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) online portal. After registering your application, book an appointment at the Norwegian embassy or a VFS Global centre in Pakistan to submit biometrics and documents. Processing can take several weeks, so apply well before your semester starts.

Fees and Processing Time

A student residence permit application fee applies — check the UDI website for the current amount. Processing times vary by season; allow at least 2–3 months during peak periods.
