Job Description
If you have ever tutored O-Level or A-Level students, you already know the market: online tutoring jobs Pakistan tutors can do entirely from home are among the most reliable remote work available. My Tutor Source is hiring an Online Math Tutor (IGCSE/GCSE) for a fully remote role. You will deliver high-quality online tutoring to students following the IGCSE and GCSE curriculum — the international syllabi used by Cambridge and Edexcel schools — covering both Mathematics and Physics.
This is a scheduled remote position, not freelance-by-the-hour work. Working days are Tuesday to Sunday, with timings from 1:00 AM to 8:00 AM Pakistan time — the night shift exists because IGCSE/GCSE students are typically based in the UK and Gulf time zones. If you are naturally a night owl, or already tutor in these hours, the schedule can actually be an advantage; if not, think carefully before applying, because consistency matters in this role.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Teach Math and Physics to IGCSE and GCSE students through live online sessions.
- Plan and deliver engaging, student-focused lessons rather than reading from slides.
- Break complex concepts down into clear, simple explanations.
- Assess student performance, give constructive feedback, and prepare students for exams, assignments and assessments.
- Maintain lesson records, track each student's progress, and honour your scheduled teaching commitments.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience teaching the IGCSE and/or GCSE curriculum is essential — this is the employer's first application question.
- Strong command of the subject matter and of exam requirements (marking schemes, paper patterns).
- Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills, plus the ability to keep students engaged through a screen.
- A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Prior online teaching experience is required.
- You will also be asked to rate your English proficiency from 1 to 10 — answer honestly, since you will be teaching in English.
A NOTE ON THE NIGHT SHIFT
Tutors who thrive in online tutoring jobs in Pakistan usually share one trait: they treat the schedule like a real job. A 1:00–8:00 AM shift means your sleep, meals and daylight hours all shift too. Set up a quiet, well-lit teaching corner, use a reliable headset and a stable internet connection, and keep your lesson plans ready before you log on — students (and their parents) judge online tutors heavily on punctuality and preparation.
HOW TO STAND OUT AS AN IGCSE/GCSE TUTOR
Examiners reward method, not just answers — so teach it that way. For every topic, show the full worked method exactly as the marking scheme expects, then make the student repeat it back on a fresh question. Keep a small bank of past-paper questions sorted by topic; ten minutes of targeted past-paper practice at the end of each lesson beats an hour of theory. Learn the paper patterns (which topics dominate Paper 2 vs Paper 4, where students lose method marks) and say so in your application — "strong command of exam requirements" is literally in the requirements list, so prove it with specifics, not adjectives.
WHAT PARENTS QUIETLY JUDGE YOU ON
In online tutoring, the student is your audience but the parent is your customer. Parents renew tutors who: start on time every session, send a two-line progress note after lessons, and set one clear target per month ("fractions to 80% accuracy by mid-October"). They drop tutors who cancel, teach from memory without a plan, or cannot explain what the child learned that week. A simple shared document tracking topics covered and test scores does more for your retention than any marketing.
