Job Description
AVL MTC Motortestcenter AB is continuously seeking experienced Lead Design Engineers / Technical Lead Engineers for exciting development projects in the automotive industry (Fordonsindustrin). The posting (dated 21 September 2026, Job ID 39528) covers Gothenburg and Stockholm, Sweden, with a permanent (Tillsvidare) contract in Mechanical Engineering. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Coordinate and lead technical deliveries and development activities, support engineers in the team, work with mechanical design and product development of components and systems, drive technical investigations and risk analyses, collaborate with suppliers and customers, produce and review CAD documentation, and contribute to DFMEA, tolerance analyses, verification and quality assurance.
REQUIREMENTS
Engineering degree in mechanical/automotive engineering, 5-10 years in the automotive industry, experience leading technical deliveries, CAD (CATIA V5/Siemens NX/Creo), PLM (Teamcenter/Windchill), fluent English and a category B driving licence.

Requirements
University or civil engineering degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering or equivalent. 5-10 years of experience from the automotive industry. Experience leading technical deliveries, work packages or development activities. Experience in product development and stakeholder management. Experience working in cross-functional teams and with suppliers. Experience with CAD tools such as CATIA V5, Siemens NX or Creo. Experience with PLM systems such as Teamcenter or Windchill. Fluent English (spoken and written). Category B driving licence. Merits: GD&T knowledge, tolerance analysis, verification/validation, DFMEA quality methods, Swedish language skills. Personal qualities: driven, communicative engineer with strong technical interest and natural leadership.
