NHS consultant psychiatrist jobs London: a Consultant Psychiatrist post on Lavender Ward with South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust. This is a general adult psychiatry inpatient ward role for a consultant ready to provide senior clinical leadership on an acute ward. The trust is a major London mental health provider, and the post-holder will work closely with ward teams, patients and carers to deliver safe, recovery-focused inpatient care. Applicants must hold appropriate UK professional registration, and the post is subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act provisions. The role also carries teaching and service development expectations, including experience of teaching undergraduate and postgraduate psychiatry.

Responsibilities

Provide consultant-level clinical leadership for Lavender Ward inpatient services. Lead multidisciplinary ward rounds, care planning and risk management. Supervise junior doctors and contribute to their training and appraisals. Work with patients, families and carers on recovery-focused treatment plans. Contribute to audit, research and service development within the trust's adult services.

Requirements

Full GMC registration with a licence to practise and inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register in general adult psychiatry (or within six months of CCT). Appropriate UK professional registration is essential. Experience of inpatient acute psychiatry and clinical leadership. Teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Satisfactory DBS disclosure.
