The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Program was established by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and is managed by Campus France to attract top foreign students to French master’s and PhD programmes. The details below are taken from the official Campus France programme page, which is the authoritative source for the call.
Scholarship Details
- Monthly allowance of €1,200 at master’s level and €2,000 at doctoral level (rates from January 2026), plus direct payment of services: international and national transport, insurance, help finding accommodation, and cultural activities.
- Tuition fees are not covered by the Eiffel programme.
- Duration: master’s — up to 12 months for M2, up to 24 months for M1, up to 36 months for an engineering degree; PhD — a maximum of 18 months in France, for enrolment in the first year of the PhD.
- Eight eligible fields across two disciplines: Science and Technology (Biology and health; Ecological transition; Mathematics and Numeracy; Engineering sciences) and Humanities and social sciences (French history, language and civilisation; Law and Political Science; Economics and Management).
- Only applications submitted by French higher education institutions are accepted. Students cannot apply directly to Campus France — a French university must nominate you.
Eligibility for Pakistani Applicants
- Pakistani citizens are eligible: the programme is open to non-French nationals enrolling in a master’s or PhD programme at a French higher education institution.
- Age: up to 29 years old at master’s level and up to 35 years old at PhD level, per the official programme page.
- Your programme must fall within one of the eight eligible fields of study listed above.
- You must be nominated by the French institution — direct applications from students are not accepted by Campus France.
Required Documents
- The official Campus France page does not publish a student-facing document checklist, because only French institutions submit application dossiers.
- Prepare the standard academic dossier your target French university asks for: transcripts, degree certificates, CV, motivation letter, and a research proposal for PhD applicants — the university uses these to decide on nomination.
Important Dates – Deadline
- The 2027 call had not yet been published on the official Campus France page as of 28 September 2026 (the page still showed the 2026 campaign).
- Most recent published cycle (2026 campaign): call opened 1 October 2025; deadline for reception of applications by Campus France: 8 January 2026 (inclusive); results published from 30 March 2026.
- Because only institutions can submit dossiers, ask each target university about its own internal nomination cut-off — these close well before the Campus France deadline.
How to Apply
1. Choose an eligible master’s or PhD programme at a French higher education institution in one of the eight fields. 2. Apply for admission to that programme. 3. Ask the institution’s international office to nominate you for the Eiffel programme — only the institution can submit your dossier to Campus France. 4. Follow the call on the official programme page: France Excellence Eiffel scholarship program – Campus France.
